Once Upon A Time By Gabriel Okara (What Is It About?) Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

Once Upon A Time By Gabriel Okara (What Is It About?)

Rating: 5.0

Once upon a time
They used to handshake
So warmly,
now shake they not
And even if
With a grinning,
How has the time changed,
This Okara keeps thinking,
How they used to be
And how have they become?

Now with the changing time
He too has change himself
To adjust with,
Now he too gives the same smile
Holding the cheeks in hold
Just showing the teeth
Not laughing from the heart
And has learnt to saying goodbye
Even though likes he not to bid.

The son hears it all
And he keeps saying, addressing him
The things of his heart,
How have the times changed,
How have the men
Over the years,
The passage of time
In their hospitality,
Warmth and acceptance,
Even if you want to go,
You will have to say,
Nice to hear you.
