One Big Whoosh Poem by Chris Goss

One Big Whoosh

One big whoosh
Followed by tick-tock, tick-tock, tick-tock
Of a Grandfather Clock
Each of them a little faster
Now a clunk, clunk, clunk, clunk
Accelerating bit by bit
Returning to tick-tock again
Creaks next with silence and then absolute still
Hush and listen to the birds sing like a show
For a moment it is still and silent
Then on bigger whoosh this time
Takes away the quiet and starts all over again
Whooshing wind caressing across my form
Dappling sunlight in and out, with blinking shadow
Goal posts bear the cutest little meadow
