One Day Poem by Kimberly Lindsey

One Day

Rating: 5.0

One day I will be able,
to look at you and not cry.
And be able to stand the pain,
I hide deep, down inside.

One day I will be able,
To smile as I pass you by,
And not fall apart, as soon as you’re gone,
I will hold my head up high.

One day I will be able,
To fall in love again,
To trust someone, as I once trusted you,
Someone, more, than a friend.

One day I will be able,
To laugh, at the humor in love.
But not right now,
My heart is breaking.
As if, it will never be whole.

One day I will be able,
To be that funny, carefree girl.
But I have shattered, into a million pieces,
I am just waiting to be restored
