One Day Poem by Phyllis Strong

One Day

One day you told me
that you love me.
One day you held me
in your arms.

One day you bought me
long stem roses.
One day we laid on the beach;
enjoying the sun.

One day we prayed together;
touching, agreeing, and believing.
Men should always pray and not faint.

One day we took a stroll together
conversed as we walked.
One day you heard what I was saying;
not just listen to me talk.

One day you took me to the movies.
One day you took me out for lunch
nothing expensive, nothing fancy;
but we communicated as we munched.

One day…
When there's 365-366 days in a year.
