One Day In The Future Poem by Dan McGonagle

One Day In The Future

One day in the future... many years from now

A spaceship from another world will visit here somehow

They wont find any life at all... for us the die was cast

All that will remain on earth are relics from the past

Their intellect will tell them of how we did things wrong

The glory that once might have been has now been dead so long

Images will be taken... records will be saved

Of ghosts that haunt the shadows of the promises we made
