One In The Same Poem by Robert.W. Hamilton

One In The Same

I have a wire brush beard
My skin is like leather
My body abused, and aged by the weather
My eyes are just slits, to see better at night
To get through my day, i steal and i fight
Every day, my life is the same
You pass me by, and toss me some change
To add to my funds to get me my fix
And after it's gone, i am back on the bricks
Looking, searching, to get more to ease pain
You can't understand, because we're not the same
But if you knew me, you would see who i am

A Spirit
A Soul
A Human
A Man
