Robert.W. Hamilton Poems

Where have you been my dear friend?
For a letter to you i was planning to send.
it has been so long, since i have heard from you
Have you wondered, why you have not heard from me too?
...

As i sit and gaze upon,
the glowing sunrise of the dawn
It speaks to me in untold ways,
and reminds me of my past gone days
...

I have a wire brush beard
My skin is like leather
My body abused, and aged by the weather
My eyes are just slits, to see better at night

My Dear Friend

Where have you been my dear friend?
For a letter to you i was planning to send.
it has been so long, since i have heard from you
Have you wondered, why you have not heard from me too?

Have you been away, or indisposed?
I assumed you had gone, or left i supposed
Why when you knew that i needed you most
did you go and leave, and abandon your post?

And i see you took with you my strength and my pride
And i thought they were afraid, and just gone to hide.
Afraid of success, or getting ahead
Because, you see, now i realize,

That i am not better off dead.
