One Is Born Poem by William Kofoed

One Is Born

Fresh snow lays

Pure and white

Cold as death

Covering all

All is quiet

All is still

Winter has

Conquered all

Stones are buried

Names unread

Forgotten all

Who here rest

Save by one

Who is born

Them to save

Forget not

All to raise

Above the snow

Cast off the stone

And the earth

Life to bring

Once again
