I was brought up in pure faith
like the truth of the pole star.
So innocent, I doubted nobody.
I didn't know whatever I was taught
was either with a motive
or because it was said so
by somebody
(seniors and scriptures included) .
I never knew
whoever told me so
really knew or believed
or really practised
what he told.
So, one day,
when I was in their cycle of life,
my world crumbled.
Brickbats are coming in torrents now
to bury me once for all.
The sins of my birth
will surely take me in!
I wanted to be born again and again and again
to savour the pleasures of this world!
I do not any more!
Enough, my Lord,
I can not take any more!
