One Of Life's Noble Battlers Poem by Francis Duggan

One Of Life's Noble Battlers

He hopes for a better tomorrow for himself and his children and wife
And for happiness and a bit more financial security is all that he ask for in life
One might say he doesn't ask for that much compared to some his dreams seem small
Compared to those who talk in millions his dreams do not seem big at all.

He works so hard for award wages and he's never drawn easy pay
The skies still dark over the suburb as he drives to work every day
He works hard for his children's future to afford them the chance of success
To give them a good education he and his wife's future is their happiness.

In his mid thirties with three Primary school going children
for a better paying job the employment columns he scan
He is one of life's noble battlers the hard working family man
He wakes early every weekday morning he's early to bed and to rise
And he reach his job in the suburb before the sun light up the skies.
