One Today, More Tomorrow Poem by Tony Cemaluk

One Today, More Tomorrow

Lie?
Flee from it.
Be free for life.

For one lie told yesterday
Will borrow another today,
And beg many more tomorrow.

It steals the night from you,
The liar lies awake,
Rehearsing excuses,
Stitching lies upon lies,
To guard a thread that should never have been spun.

But truth?
Truth needs no rehearsal.
Truth sleeps soundly.
Truth stands alone and stands forever.

So flee the lie.
Be free.
