Only God Knows

We bade our dwellings farewell in the mornings,
Forsaking them without a second look, we plunge into our daily endeavours,
Knowing for sure that our day and night will come to an end
Knowing for sure that we will get tired and stop working for some time
Knowing for sure that the competition between sunrise and sunset will never end
Knowing for sure that we will relieve ourselves now and then for eternity
Knowing for sure that we will die today, tomorrow and the near and far future
Knowing for sure that we will rise from birth and decent into old age

Only God knows what will happen between sunrise and sunset if not close and far
Only God knows what will happen to all living creatures in the course of seconds,
Minutes, hours, days, months, or year
Only God knows when to cool and hit the earth,
High and low, for all creatures to live or die,
Only God knows and through his might, the start of days and nights,
Albeit we endeavour all the time with weird purposes,
Only God knows the meaning of yesterday, today and tomorrow,
Only God knows the start of life, the middle of life and the end of life,

We are pebbles in his hand
Our lives are measured within the width of his hand not beyond because there’s no beyond
Only God knows the answer to our dreams, the dear ones and the abandoned ones,
By a stroke of a pen, He can open the window and let all things and dreams be blown away
Or stretched beyond imagination and death,
Only God knows the size and shapes of all things to come, animate and inanimate,
