Only Time Is On My Side
I know I was a child once,
Long ago, when love was just a cry
Away; and why I had to grow
And stretch my wings, just so
To touch a sky, that far away?
And why you cannot see a heart,
Although a pulse is galloping-
And agony won’t stop,
Although the pain is ripping you-
Why loved ones have to leave,
And reality's like dreams-
But I know I'll know in time-
Only time is on my side.
