Only You And I Will Ever Know - Poem by Prabhat Adivarekar

The love that we felt
The hate that we had
Only you and I will ever know

The songs that we sang
The stories that we wrote
only you and I will ever know

The memories that we created
The failures that we faced
only you and I will ever know

The late night calls, talking in whispers
Those sweet little nothings
only you and I will ever know

The journeys that we made together
The friendships that we cherished
only you and I will ever know

The way we teased each other
The way we stood by each other
only you and I will ever know

The struggles that we faced
The victories that we won
only you and I will ever know

The way we felt when we held each others hands
Butterflies in the stomach when we met
only you and I will ever know

When we shed tears of happiness
When we laughed at our problems
only you and I will ever know

The names that we gave each other
The names we called at each other
only you and I will ever know

The gifts that we made
The gifts that we tore
only you and I will ever know

The fights that we fought for us
The fights that we had between us
only you and I will ever know

The lies that we told
The truths that we hid
only you and I will ever know

The life that we had
the life that we could have had
only you and I will ever know

The world that we created
And how we destroyed it
only you and I will ever know
