Path Of Destruction - Poem by Prabhat Adivarekar

When the rage within
boils and burns without

The flames of anger given fumes of hatred
Intoxicated vengeance blazes the heart

With thoughts flaring and heart racing
There is no respite from the discontent

Clenched fists and sweat on the brow
Facing a stone wall with eyes bloodshot

The poison in the veins runs so deep
The soul has frozen, numb the feelings get

Pricking and piercing every dream and hope
Broken peaces scattered inside out

There is a smirk on the lips a tear in the eye
When life is speeding on this destructive path

An insightful depiction of destructive nature of hatred and revenge, well articulated and nicely penned in poetic diction with conviction. Lovely piece of poetry bristling with knowledge. Thanks for sharing Prabhat. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON. (Report) Reply
