Opal Reverie Poem by Janine Ecks

Opal Reverie

See this shore, this tree, born of this sea?
So, my lover, so are we.
Now all the pieces fit,
Completing the circle in a world of entropy...

In this grain of sand was your face,
In this mangrove root your solar plexus...
And I knew, and I wept, and I flew,
And I took you into me...

I think I was blind and never saw love
With the jags faceting, sparkling
Before I met you.
Every curve is an alien paradise born anew...

The picture is lit from inside
So that my fledgling eyes want to burst
And I'm out of words.
There's nothing more to scream but Hallelujah.
