Wash Over Me Poem by Janine Ecks

Wash Over Me

One more reservation is floating away...
So many I've shed now that what can I weigh?
Cleansed by the lapping of white-lidded waves,
Unfettered, I'm fearless and free.

Let the waters wash over me.
I'm small in this vast open midnight sea,
A sole grain of sand in an infinity.

And if on the morrow I wake on a shore
That I've never seen, even dreamed of before,
Marooned I am fearless and free!
Let the waters wash over me.
