Open A Window And Look Out - Poem by J.Z. de Devil
*In memory to when I was
five to seven years old. *
*And also this is my language arts writing assignment*
Open a window and look out,
I saw the beautiful world and wondered about.
The day was sunny and bright.
But soon I discovered the darkness that lies,
And the terror and grief that cries.
The wind hovered, and the sky was filled with fright.
I traveled through the shadows,
Opening my eyes and looking out the windows,
My mind scared and sad.
But I know that this was not the end,
That there is no need to pretend.
I can differ good from bad.
Although the storm continues outside,
My mind is filled with pride.
The world is still spinning in its usual course today.
But to me it’s all different now,
For I had seen both the dark and bright side of the world and never shall I forget it I vow,
I plunged into the darkness, never looking back, slowly making my way.
