I am a poem whose
Door is always open
To all comers- both
Friends and strangers.
Read my sign which
Says 'WELCOME'
In big bold letters.
Feel at home and help
Yourself to the food
And wine on the table,
And the fine insights
Contained in the books
Stacked in the library.
But don't ask about
The good host who
Is the poet himself.
He doesn't live here
And is quite busy
Loving and writing
Other poems whose
Doors are shut tight
And double-locked
With a sign that reads:
'NO TRESPASSING'
Or 'BEWARE OF DOG.'
