Open Fields Poem by Montaha Gasir

Open Fields

Take me to the Open Fields.
Where my spirit can be only free.
Where I can bring down the shields,
And become overwhelmed with glee.

Take me to the bright Meadow.
Let me sleep on the bed of grass,
Under the evergreen soothing willow,
As I stare at the sky of glass.

Take me to the running Waters.
My reflection as clear as crystal,
Joining the plants and furry squatters,
And the gentle waves that skittle.

Take me to the enchanted Forest.
The ancient trees that can take a toll,
On one who dreams to be pure and honest,
As they brighten their dimmed soul.

The beautiful places that I want to roam.
The peaceful joy of my heart it yields.
Let me get lost and find a new home.
Just take me to the Open Fields.
