Opposing Views.

Opposing views.

Alone outlined against the skies.
An ancient druid proudly stands
Or so it seems to human eyes.
Upright erect with outstretched hands.
As if appealing for Gods aid
Against the Roman conquerors
Who have decided to invade
and stamp the old ways out by force.
But only when the sun is high
At other times it’s just a tree.
A trick of light deceives the eye.
Although the locals disagree.
They disregard the experts view.
For they still hold the legend true.
