Opressive Measures Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Opressive Measures

Oppressive measure

No one survives long
If he employs wrong method
Even dictators fail after short time
They are hanged for their crime

But if they had upper hand
We can end
Any autocratic regime
If it refuses freedom

If it is slavery
And that is their policy
Keep one thing clear in mind
They will not be taken kindly

For each drop of sweats
It shall invite
Stiff resistance from poor
They will flee the scene or will be shown the door

The problem lies within
We are keen
Not to resist oppressive measure
And tolerate it with no murmur even

Opressive Measures
