Orange Peels Like Rose Petals - Poem by Wes Thompson

in the morning
when my forehead was still warm
dreams still in my head
I had so much more to say
before you left
you looked away
the wind is still warm
I hear the river coming
and following
from where I lay
it's easy to forget
she couldn't stay
