Other Half Poem by Pam Thomas

Other Half

Rating: 5.0

Blue stretched wide as dawn rises,
labored breath meets another day
without the other. Blood seeps through
open wounds, lifeless eyes open but lost.

Moving without thought the body heaves,
hope is but the past of once laid dreams.
Empty hands reaching into lost space,
laying bare loneliness so familiar.

Blind with pain a soul lays weak,
reprieve may come on morrows breath.
Stillness settles in and acceptance
takes it’s place, half is lost as
other half limps on.
