Our Choice Poem by Enikanoselu Seyi

Our Choice

Rating: 5.0

I am an ant,
I live only not to die,
My pocket is not to build mansions,
Neither do I plan to make stables;
But to worktill twilight,
Earn just to pay for the day,
And find a shelter just for the flesh,
Just for my people, I fear not.

I am a lion,
I am already in wealth,
Why will I be covetous?
My mansions are surplus,
All treasures are within my concept,
My investments wake the dead,
Till future claims eternity,
Just for my people, I fear not.

Both claim the duty of passion,
Who dominates the mind of contentment?
Whose heart takes the desire of the people?
Has the real man's pulpit been sworn?
Who is the man of the people?
