Our Falling City - Poem by Kimar Young

We raised this city
to the echlons of wonder
to sit among clouds
and weather the thunder

We danced among stars
and sang with the wind
we had come so far
from what we had been

The water so clear
the future so bright
but in every safe haven
there is always a blight

There are those among us
in cunning disguise
who solemnly seek
our very demise

They take ahold of our minds
they taint everything we see
Determination becomes hate
and passion, jealousy

When you think you are safe
is when you're unguarded
Soon our city will die
all morality discarded
