Our Last Encounter Poem by KIMBERLY FINE

Our Last Encounter

Rating: 5.0

We were so young,
had no idea what the future would bring.
We let life take control,
didn't try to change anything.

Now here we are,
so many years in the past.
I loved you so much,
could have we really made it last?

You're back in my life now,
almost too hard to believe.
We met just as friends,
could we really be that naive?

Against all that is moral and true,
we let passion and lust take control.
I can still feel your body and the taste of your kiss,
the way you glide inside me makes me feel whole.

You were my first love,
so innocent and true.
I'm afraid of what may come,
if we let this continue.

So many hearts will break,
too much laid on the line.
You're promised to another,
but my heart is not mine.

I need to walk away,
just tell you good bye.
If I say that I will,
we know it’s just a lie.
