Our Lessons In Life Poem by Francis Duggan

Our Lessons In Life

Our lessons in life always come at a cost
In erosion of trust in others and in innocence lost
In our dealings with people we find everyone is not just
And not many people you know you do trust
For us there are lessons in life every day
But the price of such lessons can be huge for to pay
And trust from once breached you may never regain
The one who has wronged you by deception you may not trust again
Though you may not be one out to even a score
Your trust in one from once lost is lost forever more
We receive from life what is only our due
And to your higher self if you cannot stay true
And your untrustworthy ways have given you a bad name
Then for that you have only yourself for to blame.
