Here we have a life that is restless and confusing
We keep accumulating trophies to compensate for missing happiness
Desires have bubbled up a huge pile to explore our whims
Our life is a carefully managed parade; all dressed up in phony overconfidence
Where the mind seeks to show off all the successes of life but
The brain wants more and more and more as the brain feels failure
Just being able to be a struggle to get to the top is making letdowns
We are running in a changing landscape to catch up to the Cahills
Without looking back to feel proud of how much defeat we have covered
The mind has worked hard to put luxury on life's platter and wants to rest down
The brain says a break will shatter the headiness so jump up and keep going
The mind wants to rest and rest and rest but the brain has life on a leash in the corner
The mind breaks down and the brain keeps barking jealousy and greed
The brain puts the body buried deep in emotional holes
The mind struggles to drag the body out.
The brain is in charge of the mind but the question is who is in charge of the brain?
The boss is the old self image powered by the flashbacks of enduring helplessly the slaps to the real self.
