Our Love Story Poem by Saurav Bashyal

Our Love Story

after all these years all that I remember now is that lyrical lullaby that got me enchanted,
the curl of your hair and that unexpected laughter that brought a freedom that was not granted
I used to think that my solitude and unconscious dreams were my freedom, my priceless ornament
but I realized that freedom is bounded by love and nirvana when I got lost in your shadow and it's scent

all I remember are those sparkling stars that we used to stare every dark day under the pale moonlight,
those long walks at sea shore and that long visit to ocean in a hope of crossing this world to see infinite
holding my hand you took me to that land of tiny white blossoms and green tickling pasture
lying under the fathomless sky, we talked about mystery of birth and the unknown art of departure

but now all that is left is memories that will become more blurred along with the inevitable turn of time
there are some portraits of your beautiful eyes and some verse just like my life; they do not rhyme
I still don't know how our journey of love came to an unexpected end; it was so magical
the beautiful present has turned into a horrible past; our love story is no more a sweet reality but a sad chronicle
