Our Story Poem by Edwina Reizer

Our Story

Have you given thought my love
to when our days will end?
Or have you chosen to forget
what lies beyond the bend?
Not thinking about the parting scene
is what we try to do.
Just one more day, just one more hour
that I can spend with you
is a gift I won't forget.
In that one small measure of time
I'll remember when we met.

Like a flash-back movie on a screen
our story will be played.
And the memory of whom we were
I would never trade.
For we found each other and we knew
that the finding was the flame
that in the end could never die
and that no one could ever tame.
