Our Town Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Our Town

Our town

I live in Abbotsford,
Too close to North Pole,
The Crown of Globe.

Some call her Abby, but
Many say: "The Great."

I see her as village,
Quite nice with asphalt.

Active are Christians,
Religious foundations!

Though near Vancouver
Vary their residents!

Small parks and trails
Are almost everywhere.

To those with attention
Funny are its days' length!

To talk of short and long
Study and define,
The role of all seasons,
See winter, summer days.

Extend the longer days,
To twice of shorter!

In middle of April,
Empty was city!

Friday, after six,
Observed a ghost city!

People were scattered,
Either deep in shelters,
Or by the rivers, lakes,
Speechless, I question:
"Is it not like graves? "
