Our Universe Written In 2018 Poem by Andrew Wilson

Our Universe Written In 2018

The universe is very much an empty space
Yet in it there is room for the entire human race
Over many years it appears we evolve and transform
We kill, if it means we can truly keep warm

From cold beginnings to global warming, whatever next….
Arguing about traffic and who will cook tea
Just what does life mean to the likes of you and me?

A bottle of whisky or a bottle of wine,
Getting a sun tan in the sunshine
Superficial it could be argued are these crazy generations
Surrounded by culture but lies none the less
How to make more of this life, be simply the best

We go out to work
Earn money for goods
But let's be honest most of them are duds

We make friends and socialise
There are those who we love, those we despise

How easy it is to see through those lies

Keep your friends close, no closer still
No-one wants to give or eat a bitter pill

Freestyle into the future
Make each day your best,
But remember, remember, you should always make time to rest.

Retirement will soon be upon us
Oh what does that word mean?
For good or for bad or something in between, but watch out, watch out, you don't want to become an outdated old has been..
