Outside Looking In Poem by Sven Rhoads

Outside Looking In

I see lines are drawn with fire and gasoline
All the monsters with their eyes so green
Severed the ties that once made humanity
I stand from afar to get a taste of clarity

Barren and lonesome is my surrounding horizons
But in the view I can see where I've been before
Brothers on brothers, children against mothers
This is not the future that I thought it would be

On the outside looking in
Far from the war waged
Journeyed away from within
And now its but boiling rage
On the outside looking in
All alone but finding peace
Repeat the past, time and again
Once so bright, now diseased

Look in from a different point of view
And search for a better solution
Before the sand has all fallen out
And there's only blood on our hands
Dont be afraid to face the truth
Eye for an eye is no revolution
Turn the direction completely around
And try to come to understand

Your unity has been a delusional division
Tying us with name that will become the noose

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Clarity and truth can come about when you stand beyond the exchange of words and see the venom each party has been spitting, a clear picture will emerge.
