Outstretched Arms Poem by Skittles XOXO

Outstretched Arms

Jesus he holds her, calms her fears,
Gently he wipes away her tears.

One by one the devil he sends,
Alcohol, drugs, and all the wrong friends.

His arms outstretched to keep her close,
As she opens a bottle for another dose.

Farther and farther she slips away,
He still reaches out for her to stay.

One lonely night in her depth of despair,
Looking toward Heaven with a fiery glare,

She screams, you left me alone and in fear!
Jesus replies, I was always right here.

His love has repaired her once broken heart,
Never again his love she’ll depart.
