Over The Rainbow Poem by Edmund V. Strolis

Over The Rainbow

Rating: 5.0

All clean warm and comfy
You have that look tonight
You wish to have a tale told
You want your mother close.

Your playful eyes smile
This night was made for this.
Fluff your pillow and rejoice
You love your mother's voice.

Aw the book now that's the rub
The dragon's lair on high?
The ship lost on a Martian sea?
Yes mother tells it all so well.

The shelf of colored stickers.
Sags with books of every shape.
What stories in a tattered binding.
Joy and wonder and yes mother.

She snuggles in, jostling playfully
She takes the marker from its place.
She will transport him in seconds.
But....
She is exactly where she loves to be.
She reads:

'Guard the lantern with all of your might young prince Julius, the dragon strikes before morning comes. He has his eye on the lamp.....

Her voice has freed him to dreamland.
To ride with friends on flying camels
Or sit with singing frogs on lily pads.
Smiling she returns the marker to the page.

And whispers 'goodnight' to the prince.

This is such a beautiful poem. Mothers love is so powerful and yes we all know how she makes the stories come to life. This can never be forgotten. Brilliant again Eddie. Big 10

Over The Rainbow: Such a great poetic story and with the picture too, Truly it deserves many reviews, but where are they? Nonetheless, keep on writing, you're doing good work. Thanks for sharing, and may you be blessed!
