Overcast On My Heart - Poem by Michel Antoine
Overcast On My Heart__
Michael Anthony 4/7/12
It's overcast on my heart tonight, forever holding you at bay.
Never to let you in again, my love is getting further away.
It was a winter of romance;
Heating those night by your embrace,
We were aglow amidst the embers
Making love by the fireplace
You completed my every sentence;
Fulfilling my dreams.
You gave me hope to the questions,
So fear-filled they seemed.
The frost now turns to moss
And the embers went cold.
You needed me less,
And our love went on hold.
I want to believe that nothing's changed,
Smiling away from me.
As words replace your touch
As promises replace your passion
The nights, they grow so long
And the day's light so short.
As you lie in bed up north,
And I'm here, so we're apart.
