Overcoming Base Love

In the wilderness of base love
there's no blessing from up above
mainly guilt and condemnation
without much hope for salvation.
One has these feelings of despair
with a sense of going nowhere
and not knowing which way to turn
in such frustration one does burn.

The direction one needs to take
is to look for amends to make
where the situation demands
with the effort of feet and hands.
That way it can be then assured
and with right action procured
having a sincere attitude
expressing inner gratitude.

One doesn't have to make a show
for everyone around to know
otherwise it will appear vain
and only be a shallow gain.
For the problem lies not outside
but within the heart it does hide
like an inner demon which is
engaged in conceit to be this.

Thoughts that are stagnant in the mind
can become a festering kind
and will make trouble if they're not
removed or replaced but cause rot.
To manifest true love in life
is to avoid all kinds of strife
doing good wherever one can
for the benefit of each man.
