Owl Who Who? By Gio Masserati

Owl Who who?

Last night I saw an owl
he, or she, flew so close to my side of the car
I felt like the owl was touching me with his wing
sure seemed like the biggest seagull I've ever seen
wings outstretched in full span

then at the end of the street
as we waited at the stoplight
it landed on a sign
and peered at me with outstretched upperbody
looking deep into my eyes

I rolled down the window, awestruck
at how piercing the moment became
then, I said a few sweet words to my white beautiful owl
before leaving his presence

what could it mean I asked?
I thought about this happening
deciding that the owl sighting was saying, 'Gain wisdom! '

I had asked for Godly leaders to pray for me, my future
and for a special man I met
someone like David, and Joseph, and Noah in the bible
imperfect men like me
forgiven
lovers of much more than self and money
men with a heart after God's own heart

I am now waiting more calmly and patiently
with the covering of wisdom and prayer
as I also pray for this man and future

I also saw another owl the same night on my new t-shirt

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
So, even though I needed clarity, I was very careful looking up answers online about owl sightings
because there's so much anti God info in the spiritual realms but all of a sudden I realized that God
created the heavens and the earth. He created this wonderfully made owl and let me see it. This
type of rare owl sighting has only happened two other times in very reflective times in my life.
So to all the websites, books, and movies out there online or elsewhere, trying to steal God's Glory
by stealing, killing, destroying and twisting what God has created,
I say you can try but die trying because to God be the Glory forever
and ever! Amen!

Lovely poem. There are timings when we feel animals looking at us. May be they understand the language of silence better than us. May be they know who is friendly and who is threatening. This poem so well resonates with me. Thanks for sharing.
