Oyster Dreams Poem by Gordon D Wilkinson

Oyster Dreams

Rating: 5.0

The world is my oyster, I know that is true
Everything in my dreams I am going to do

Fly free like the birds in the sky
Watch me go hand gliding by

Sink to the depths like galleons of old
Diving deep searching for gold

Live with a tribe deep in the Amazon belt
Living off the land and trading pelt

Go through the jungle in Borneo
Observing Orang-utans living life so slow

Walk on Table Top Mountain is for me
Getting back down in time for tea

Wander around the Australian outback
Doing a real walkabout with back-pack

In other words, go get a new life
Away from the rat race, noise and strife
Go to the places full of these themes
Opening up that oyster, so full of my dreams

Ah yes - how clever to take that phrase & build on it. Excellent poem & inspiring to the reader. I love this - I think I shall sell up & go travel the world now :)
