Pachydermatitis Poem by Barry Van Allen

Pachydermatitis

I am afflicted with it,
I'm a 'short - nosed elephant ',
I remember everyone and everything.

I don't always admit it though,
because it hurts sometimes,
and at other times, it feels too damn good.

Now and then, I meet a fellow
'short -nosed elephant ',
and we stroll down memory lane.

Even if we have shared the same experience,
the memories are not always the same,
everyone's a picker and a chooser,
everyone's a winner, not a loser - - - yesterday!

The problem with being a ' short - nosed elephant ',
is that you know where all the bones are,
and you remember how they got there ...
Sometimes it's best to forget about remembering,
and pretend that some things never happened.

LOL...I like the analogy! I've often said...'I know where the bodies are buried'...unfortunately...all that seems to do is threaten people and make me a target...LOL... Hugs, Dee
