Pagbiya Sa Pier Tres (With English Translation) Poem by Neile Genica Mijares

Pagbiya Sa Pier Tres (With English Translation)

Rating: 5.0

Ingon aning orasa
bitayon na ang adlaw
ug lumsan sa nagdilaab
nga dagat.
Alas sais treynta: samaran
sa fastcraft ang bawd
samtang hinay hinay nanganaog
ang mga pinong dagum sa taligsik
nanusok sa mga lantsa, roro ug
sa akong bukobukong
walay pandong.
Gitulod sa mga bawd palayo
ang imong pulong sa pagbalik.
Samtang ikaw, sama sa imong maleta
(hain imong giputos ang akong pahiyum
nga isabwag unya sa lawd)
gihatod sa akong panan-aw ngadto
sa panganod.
Ingon aning orasa, aning dapita
natilawan sad nako ang dagat sa
akong ngabil.

English translation

Leaving at Pier Three

At this hour
The sun is hanged
to drown in the fiery
sea
At three-thirty: the
fastcraft cuts the waves
while slowly drops
the fine needles of the rain
pricking the small boats, the ferries and
my shoulders
that are bare
The tides pushes away
your promise to return
While you, along with your suitcase
(where you wrapped my smiles
to be thrown later into the open sea)
are sent off by my gazes towards
the clouds
At this moment, at this place
I have also licked the sea
on my lips
