Pained Again Poem by Megan Loney

Pained Again

Another time, another place;
Same name, different face.
This time, no disdain.
Despite all that, same old pain.

Thudding heart that beats too fast,
Empty feeling I hope won't last.
Dizzy head that makes me weak,
Totally tongue-tied so I can't speak.

Risked it once, can't do it twice.
Showed all my cards, paid the ultimate price.
I just want to stop playing this game.
But I can't stop, so I'm the one to blame.
