Untitled Poem by Megan Loney

Untitled

Once, long ago, I saw a spark,
Now I only see the dark.
The stars above, they light my path.
In the darkness, shadows cast.
Warm air envelopes me tight
It holds me close in the bosom of night.

I fiercly struggle to free myself
But the dark becomes my cell
I keep fighting, I want to be free
The darkness continues to cover me
It holds me down, won't let me go
My fears are now taking control

From weary eyes; my tears now pour
I cannot hold them anymore
My limbs go lax, my mouth won't speak
My soul is drowning, I'm in too deep
I know the truth, I can't deny
The world around me, the fears inside
