Pains, Sorrow, Life. Poem by Zotena Moses

Pains, Sorrow, Life.

Tonight, its cold in the rains
‎Here I am struggling with loneliness
‎I reach out to touch you
‎All I held was the pillows
‎I walk down the streets
‎I see many holding hands
‎Just like we did at moonlight
‎This is pains
‎This is sorrow
‎This is life.

‎Now, I can only live in my memories
‎The smiles, the joy, the vows
‎And when the darkness falls
‎When no friend is present
‎In the silence
‎Like thieves in the night
‎The thoughts I fought come crawling back
‎I see your shadow everywhere
‎I reach for you but only touch the ray
‎This is pains
‎This is sorrow
‎This is life.

‎Its a little too late to turn every stone in my midlife
‎My youthfulness I spent with you
‎Now, my midlife, I must spend alone
‎I never thought wise
‎Before I crossed that line with you
‎My young heart belonged to you
‎My shattered heart belongs to me
‎This is pains
‎This is sorrow
‎This is life.
