I wonder, in my silent dreams,
Why every moment spent with you,
I'm not myself; that is,
I'm really who I want to be
And no one else.
And you, if your sounding brings,
A thought of me and of my world,
Without yourself; that we,
A pair of laces strapped
Are now no more?
Then we, before time pulls us torn,
Should meet inside a world afresh,
Within ourselves; that is,
Forevermore,
Your eyes and mine.
