Pancake Day Has Arrived... Poem by Sebastian Melmoth

Pancake Day Has Arrived...

Pancake day has arrived

Flour, eggs, milk and a pinch of salt
A shopping list that the kids won't fault

Hot, delicate, and yummy
Pancakes to fill up your tummy

Whisking your mix in repetitive rhythm
Savoury or sweet treats a given

Making sure consistency right
Let the batter hit the pan and start the cake frying tonight

Make it thick, thin nice but floppy
But don't make it too sloppy

Flip it high
If gets stuck to the ceiling just have another try

Take part in a race
Keep up the pace

In costume or just for fun
Wait in excitement as you start to run

Pancake day has arrived
Is it what you imagined or contrived?
