Paper Boat Poem by fraidoon warasta

Paper Boat

flickering dark light of
this flying frosty december
its frostier gasp
is about to grab

a police officer
at the cafes entrance
his gun
loaded with air
guarding the decent citizens

with poetry
malice and rebelliousness
impregnated
in my hand a compass
i burst the bubbles of my hot coffee
with its needle
saying to my self
to be numb
is to be damned
then i ask the naked wind
to denude me of
subjectivity and objectivity
and the desire of
being free by society
like a naked winter birch

the more i penetrate this sombre-coated sky
the darker, thicker and deeper the clouds get
but soon
i'll greet the peach blossoms
soon i'll witness the invasion of the green light
and the eagle hatchlings who couldn't be satisfied with earthworms
soon i'll witness the palpable decline and decay
of the congregations of the numbs

in the sea of the sky
i'll let my paper boat float
fishing the new moon
