Indian Summer Poem by fraidoon warasta

Indian Summer

Rating: 5.0

from a train window
i look outside silently
a few clouds hang leisurely
above those vivid poplar trees
where the wind whistles and whirls
meanwhile
a flock of swallows free of care
nesting in the sky

this year
i don't know why
this indian summer
has brought us
so many colourful saris from gujrat
spreading throughout fields,
woods, parks, lakes and gardens
but it won't stay long!
for my thirst dreams of rain

like the expressionists i see
the shadows of the dazzling pines
pink and purple

a flowing river of colours
absorbs my imagination
black and white are absent
however, i still embrace
the yin and yang

Free care nesting the sky. Perceptional beauty of Indian Summer is nicely captured in cover with smile of all stars in sky. A great poem is excellently penned. From train window you have witnessed the right scene.
