Parel Pawanputra Poem by Upendra Majhi

Parel Pawanputra

Under the big peepal tree, on theend of descension of footbridge, a red idol, white eyes protruding, ten huts of mini shanty township, tea, pakoda, samosa, omlette, chiku, kiwi, jackfruit, apple, papaya,
marigold, jasmine, daffodil.in an evening, God said let us beautify our city, bulldozer demolished all, the worshipper uprooted the idol and took inside, once brightened with neon light, the shanty town drowned in darkness except the ghee flame flickering at the peepal,
As I looked forthe idol, I saw the yellow flag fluttering,
where is the worshipper? fled perhaps, yet I called out of intuition, his loin cloth, yellow, visible,
he is there, They have promised that there will be a temple of Italian marble, he saidI praised the Authority for their proactiveness
As I looked up I saw a Bollywood billboard, Alexander and Purus, eyeball to eyeball, One on a tusker, one on a pony, Hanuman and Alexander were contemporary. And under that milieu, Alexander was grounded, banyon roots hanging like labyrinth,
There will be footbridge.I praised the Authority,
Histry repeats itself, also ontology, I concluded.
